Go Beyond Your Comfort Zone

No matter what goals and dreams you desire, there’s a good chance it’s going to mean reaching beyond what you believe yourself to be capable of.

This fine line between what we think we can achieve and cannot is often referred to ask one’s comfort zone. The comfort zone is our living, work, and social environment that we have grown habituated to. It determines the type of profession we have, the people we relate with and the lifestyle we adopt.

Increasing our awareness to the barriers which keep us within the comfort zone can help us convince this malady. A few of these barriers are:

  1. Procrastination: I will try to achieve success someday.
  2. Indecision: I don’t know what the right decision to take right now is.
  3. Fear of Failure: What if I make changes and they won’t work out.
  4. Rationalizing: I am getting a higher salary than my friends, what else do I want.
  5. Low Self Respect: I don’t deserve anything better.

Whether it’s giving a report in class, or preparing to make a speech to the board of directors of your company-we all have a point where we begin to doubt what we’re made of. Can we really pull it off, we ask ourselves?

The key is to administer that panic and not allow it to hold us back. Keep in mind the next time you find yourself faced with one of life’s less than comfortable situations that fear is:

False Evidence Appearing Real

Keep that maxim in your wits, and also keep clearly in mind that just beyond your own comfort zone, you can have great achievements.

To revolutionize into a different lifestyle we must realize that all significant and enduring changes occur first in apparition and then they work their way into reality. If we clearly and brilliantly imagine ourselves succeeding by frequent repetitions and emotional crash, we will create a new picture of ourselves.
